Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Ideal 24 hour heat source for all types of reptiles, amphibians, birds or small animals. Very little visible light provided so as not to disturb your animal's sleep patterns. Excellent for nocturnal viewing of all types of captive animals. Spot reflector focuses more heat onto your reptile and minimizes nighttime glare. Perfect for use in Zoo Med's "vertically mounted" Slider Hood!

4 out of 5 stars Decent   August 29, 2010

We're using this light to warm the baby during diaper changes. The light is fairly bright in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, so we ended up installing it at an angle (at his feet) so he wouldn't inadvertently stare into it. Pretty decent overall, although the heat predictably drops off with distance and a 250 watt version might be better for our application. Otherwise a good deal and surprising durability for an incandescent light. Amazon thru in some airbags which promptly deflated coming up to the altitude of Los Alamos, so the light got knocked around in transit.

5 out of 5 stars Worked out just fine!   April 3, 2010

Exactly what I was looking for! Heats up my tank to about 108*F and with a dimmer I can adjust the temp to exactly what I need..

5 out of 5 stars Reptile Heat Lamp   November 17, 2008

Reptiles are not my favorite creature. I really don't know anything about reptiles. After my daughter brought home a snake, I started asking questions about what the snake needed. I still know very little about snakes, or reptiles of any kind, but one thing that I feel good about is the Red Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp. It is hard to find at the pet stores around here and so I will probably have to continue to order it from Amazon.
