Straight from the WE DON"T CARE HOW WE PACK OUR JUNK department July 28, 2010 bjgbjk (New York, NY USA) I opened the box and took the contents out. Checked that I had everything, read instructions, and then noticed the inside of the tank had a random 3 or 4 inch piece of clear tape stuck to it. Uh-oh. That can be nasty. The tape they make these days leaves a gummy film that you can't dynamite off. Maybe I should just send it back, I thought. But dope that I am, I did Net research on how to remove tape gunk. I was as careful as I could be. Here I am hours later with an ugly, scratched (and yes, as someone else pointed out, it scratches very easily) tank with a filmy blob smeared across the inside front. Thanks for the careful packing, guys.
The perfect tank for African Dwarf frogs June 9, 2010 Skylark I love this Corner tank, it fits absolutely perfect into the corner I wanted it to be. It is a heavy-duty well made tank. Everything I expected it to be and more. The only thing I would change is to have a small feeding door in the top. Other than that, I am more than happy with it. The perfect size for two African dwarf frogs. Mine love it.
Marineland 5 gal corner aquarium April 22, 2010 Joe (USA) It's a nice little aquarium and I am glad I bought it. One slight down side is that the filter cartridges are expensive. I carefully cut the fiber filter material from the frame on 3 sides and replaced the carbon pieces and then laid the filter material back in place; seems to work just fine. The other minor down side is that the clear acrylic scratches very easily.
Awkward design and mediocre quality March 26, 2010 BH (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This tank was purchased as an upgrade for my betta. I decided to send this tank set back almost immediately because I found the quality and design of the tank to be pretty disappointing...especially coming form Marineland. First off, the acrylic tank body scratches incredibly easily, especially compared to my other acrylic set by a different manufacturer. Even the foam packing material didn't appear to protect it well. The top and bottom of the tank were both lined with obvious scratches right out of the box! The filter that came with the set is made of flimsy plastic and doesn't sit well in the compartment designated for it. Nearly every time I opened the lid, the filtration system popped up because the cords got stuck in the hinge. The cords from the filter and light have to fit through a really narrow opening near the hinge of the tank. The tank comes with a clip to hold these, but it really doesn't help much. To add a heater, you must carefully thread the cord through a small hole on the opposite side of the lid and drop the heater through a narrow opening in the plastic that supports the filtration system, which is a real pain should you need to adjust the temperature or remove the filter for any reason. As for the lid, I don't understand why they didn't include a little feeding door like many other systems do. It is a hassle to open the entire top (especially if you are limited on space above or behind the tank) just to dump in some flakes. I did like the tank's aesthetics and corner shape when it arrived, and the quality of lightbulb included, but thats about it honestly. In my opinion, there are better tank sets to choose from...particularly if you are shopping for a Betta.
Best small aquarium! February 3, 2010 JC Fisher (TEXAS, USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is by far the best aquarium kit i've used so far. Ive had it for around 1 month already. The filter and bio wheel do the job with keeping the water clear and ammonia levels close to non-existant, respectively. Fish seem very happy and healthy. I was so pleased with this tank, i bought another one!
