Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This is not your average Betta bowl. Give your Betta a little class with a beautiful bowfront tank. Perfectly Betta-sized, this kit comes with a plastic ornamental plant and decorative silica waste-absorbing crystals that naturally absorb ammonia. The exclusive EZ-clean system makes cleaning your bowfront tank a cinch with the EZ-clean plug that allows you to drain the water from the bottom of the bowl and an easy-open lift-top gives you quick access. This tank provides picture-perfect viewing of your beautiful betta fish.Features include: EZ-lift lid; crystal clear acrylic for picture-perfect viewing; unique filter-grid on the bottom with EZ-clean system; a water release cap on the bottom for easy draining of the tank; plant pin holds plant securely to filter grid; the blue tank divider shield visually separates the fish, when removed the clear divider promotes flaring of gills and fins. Comes with two plants and gravel.
Worst tank for bettas!April 6, 2010 Ashraj S. Dhindsa(Turlock, CA) Don't buy this tank! I bought one and it was small. It also LEAKED and almost killed my fish. Luckily I put water back in it and the fish survived for now and I'm awaiting for them to fully recover. This is the most horrible design of a tank and needs to be recalled and fixed. The water stopper at the bottom can get a miniature fracture in it that you cant see because the whole stopper is black and can start leaking water overnight. My heart almost stopped to see the fishies trying to survive on the bottom of the tank. I would stay away from this tank as you can see from all the reviews.
Product is fine...December 23, 2009 Kitty(Houston Area, TX) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
note before my review: Yea ok, so everyone QQing over this needs to just think about it from a breeders standpoint...I jar my bettas in quart mason jars. The males anyways. I do not see how this is any different. The ONLY downside and I mean ONLY, is that the divider is not a solid color, preventing the males from seeing each other. Is this meant for keeping a betta forever and ever as a HOME? No...But as a breeding standpoint, it is fine. If you are stupid enough to think a breeder would have a gallon-per-male, you are wrong. It is more cost and space efficient for mason jars, beanie baby boxes, or these small acrylic breeders.
So.........if you dont like it because it is "cruel", dont write a review. Reviews are only helpful if you point out flaws in construction, pricing, etc. Your opinion means jack from a consumer standpoint.
I rate this product a 4, and that is because the divider is NOT a solid color. Bi-weekly water changes are suggested and this setup is NOT suggested for long-term use. <--proper review
Too SmallSeptember 29, 2009 Starlit Rogue Too small for a temporary home. Not bad I guess if you wanted to put one in there while your changing your REAL tank. You can get a 5 gal for cheaper at some places. Please be kind!
Worse Than Prison!August 10, 2009 Adrien Caldwell(Chicago, IL USA) This bowl is unnaturally small and by no means should anyone buy this for a betta. Bettas like to swim around. I would suggest at the least a 3 gallon tank.
Too smallJanuary 17, 2009 Dorth Ditto to all the other negative reviews. My betta lives in a 10-gallon tank.
